El Trovador Coffee

El Trovador

I’m so happy to blog about this coffee; it was an unexpected gift from my PR Sis. I’ve been drinking this coffee for over a week. It is a Puerto Rican-origin coffee. When I looked up the meaning of Trovador, a few descriptions came up, but the one that made the most sense was reciting poems using a guitar. It goes back to the 13th century when musicians traveled, singing poems and telling stories. The name suits the coffee. The taste gives a nostalgia of good-picked beans and stories to be revealed.

If you have been following my blog, I love my beans grind fresh. But this coffee was ground coffee (café molido). El Trovador coffee is a medium dark roast that has a toasty aroma. I recommend using a colador or a Moka pot (a Greca) as this ground coffee is very fine. El Trovador coffee is great as an espresso! It has a bitter aftertaste, but it doesn’t linger too long. I do enjoy a coffee with a bit of bitter aftertaste. It has character – I love that!

This coffee reminds me of my mother. I think she would have taken this coffee black with no sugar. Cafe El Trovador feels inviting – like, let’s chat for a while, lol. I love it best with a dash of frothed oat milk and brown sugar (a Cortado – un café con leche). I recommend trying this coffee. If you don’t have a PR Sis who will bring coffee gifts back from her travels, you can order online from a few stores.

I dedicate my blogging today to Maureen Blake for her strength, friendship, and kindness – she will be greatly missed!
