There are more than 25+ Puerto Rican coffees available to coffee lovers. This is fascinating news!!! I had no idea there was such a variety of coffees across the inland. Many of these have been around delighting Puerto Rican coffee drinkers for decades. However, in more recent years, a few new growers are building a reputation in PR and across the USA.
Puerto Rico is the only United States territory where coffee is grown! So, why is Puerto Rican coffee not widely available in the USA? It is easier to find Costa Rican and Ethiopian coffee at any coffee shop than Puerto Rican coffee. As I go along this journey, I am discovering that I have lots of questions about the history of Puerto Rican coffee and the here and now! More to come….
